What Your Gut Is Telling You {literally}

We will listen to a podcast and take advice from a stranger we’ve never met. We’ll ask our friends what we should do about something. But when’s the last time you listened to yourself and your own GUT instinct? Yes, we’re going with gut stuff here!

Where I am in my second Hashimotos remission journey

I’ve been sharing the play by play of my second stab at hashimotos remission over on my Instagram. My 2.0 journey began in July (2023) after finding the infection. I took the antibiotics and then it was time to get back to work! Was I a little intimidated to be starting over after losing 120 lbs the first time? Yes. But this time I felt educated. I felt empowered. And I had done it before so I knew I could do it again.

What My GINSTINCT (that’s Gut Instinct) was Telling Me

After being diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2007, I feel like in 2023 I’m pretty educated on the disease and my own personal journey. I took time to revisit my root cause (if you haven’t dug into that yet, I highly recommend discovering yours to make the rest of your journey a little less chaotic). This is the resource that I use for Root Cause Discovery. And as I was working on my remission plan, there was just something off. I was off antibiotics, I was doing the things that would normally help with my remission plan, but something was off. What was it? My gut.

What My Gut Was Telling Me

It’s funny how I can listen to my clients or social media followers and be able to tell them quickly that they have gut issues: brain fog, insomnia, heart burn, mood instability, sugar cravings, inability to lose weight, etc…. Yet, I was exhibiting all the same symptoms and I didn’t even bat an eye at it. Until someone mentioned it to me, and I listened. I had NEVER had issues with leaky gut and digestive balance this way, so this was all quite new to me. But when someone mentioned it, I listened and I decided to be smart about it.

My Typical Test and See Method

I’m a little bit old school. I’m the ‘let’s try this, test this, see what happens, and then we can adjust accordingly. But thankfully for the gods of the internet (and friends who turned me onto a cool new trick), I got answers about my gut health a little more quickly. I didn’t know this existed. But did you know there’s a gut test that you can do that shows you what you need for gut health, wellness stability, and what foods you need + need to avoid? Genius, right? It’s everything I can do with my old school method, but with more intelligence and in a much shorter amount of time. Cuts down on the ‘trial’ frustration and it got me back to losing 11 lbs of inflammation in 3 short weeks. I didn’t diet or cut calories or do crazy workouts. It simply told me what supplements I needed for my gut health and which foods were inflammatory for me. I got back to feeling like ME without the time investment or the frustration.
